About Us

JeffCo Express is a program managed by Jefferson County Community Partnership, a non-profit organization that depends in part on private donations.

The JeffCo Express was able to get started because of a generous grant from the Missouri Planning Council for Development Disabilities. Those grant dollars were used as a leveraged resource to apply for three different Federal Transportation Administration grants through 5317 New Freedom Funds. As a result we were awarded close to $700,000 to buy six vehicles as well dollars to operate and manage the system.

In September of 2010 we used the rest of the MPCDD grant dollars and we are now faced with a budget deficit when it comes to match dollars. Operational costs are a 50-50 match while capital and mobility managements costs are an 80-20 match.

To be able to draw down on these grants we need to raise a minimum of $4,500 a month to provide one route. Each subsequent route requires $4,500 per month. We have been selling sponsorships wraps on the buses as well as soliciting corporate and civic sponsorships. Corporations or non profit groups wishing to be $2,500 to $4,500 sponsors will receive an equal number of bus passes to give away to their employees, clients, or customers as they wish.
